Specifications and what it does in the paddock
See what your crops can't tell you. The DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral (M3M) puts a 20MP RGB camera and four dedicated multispectral sensors on one sub-1kg foldable airframe, capturing crop health data invisible to the naked eye, weeks before stress shows up as symptoms.
One 43-minute flight covers up to 200 hectares, every image tagged with centimetre-accurate RTK positioning and corrected by the built-in sunlight sensor so your NDVI maps stay comparable week after week, season after season.
Two cameras. One flight. Every answer.
- 20MP RGB camera: 4/3 CMOS with mechanical shutter, the same proven optics family as the Mavic 3 series
- 4 × 5MP multispectral sensors: Green (560nm), Red (650nm), Red Edge (730nm) and Near-Infrared (860nm), captured simultaneously with the RGB image
- Sunlight sensor: records solar irradiance into every image, so vegetation index values stay consistent across changing light and repeat missions
- Built-in RTK: 1cm + 1ppm horizontal accuracy with microsecond camera sync; centimetre-level maps without laying a single ground control point
- Live NDVI in flight: view NDVI, GNDVI and NDRE in real time on the controller through DJI Pilot 2
From map to prescription to spray drone
The M3M is the intelligence half of a precision spraying system. Fly the field once, process the imagery in DJI Terra or SmartFarm, and turn the vegetation index map into a prescription map. Load that prescription into your Agras T50 or T100 and it applies chemical only where the crop needs it, variable-rate spraying that cuts input costs while lifting yield. For orchards, Terra reconstructs the canopy in 3D and generates terrain-following routes your spray drone flies automatically.
It also plays well beyond the DJI ecosystem: Pix4Dfields, Solvi, Aerobotics and the DJI Cloud API are all supported.
Why operators choose the M3M
- 200 ha in a single flight: scout at a scale no ute or quad bike can match
- Sub-2kg take-off weight: operates in Australia's lightest regulatory category, no ReOC required for excluded-category work
- Tree counting and orchard intelligence: automatic tree identification and counting on slopes with terrain follow
- Season-over-season comparison: automated repeat missions with consistent framing catch emergence gaps, weed pressure and lodging early
- Still the only one: as of 2026 the M3M remains DJI's only integrated multispectral drone; the Matrice 4 series doesn't offer a multispectral variant
